Benjamin Skinner is an assistant professor of higher education and policy at the University of Florida. His research uses data science to investigate how policies affect enrollment and success at community colleges and broad access universities. In his work he has focused on the relationships between online course delivery and student enrollments, course outcomes, and degree attainment; how students weigh factors like distance and cost when choosing a college; and the economic and social outcomes of college attendance. Ben is the author and maintainer of a number open source software packages created to support quantitative research. Ben earned his PhD in Leadership and Policy Studies from Vanderbilt University in 2017.
